CHORAL EVENSONG 2012All Saints' Choral Evensong with the music of Felix Mendelssohn was Sunday, February 26th at 4:30 pm. The choir sang the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis from Op. 69 and anthem "Grant Us Thy Peace". Organist Dietrich Bartel performed Sonatas for Organ. Everyone who attended enjoyed a wonderful service with spiritual liturgy, silent reflexion and great music.
"THE SEVEN LAST WORDS" MEMBRA JESU, GOOD FRIDAY 2012
This incredible Good Friday service is one of contemplation, strong liturgy and beautiful music. The choral works of DIetrich Buxtehude intertwine with readings, silence and hymns for three hours of spiritual contemplation. From noon to 3:00 pm, a wonderful experience on this most important day.
CHARPENTIER CHRISTMAS EVE 2011
Saturday, December 24th 11:00 pm. Another wonderful Christmas Eve, celebrating the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many thanks to Dietrich, choir, orchestra and all those who attended.
ADVENT PROCESSION WITH CAROLS 2011
Sunday,November 27th at 4:30pm. It was a wonderful service, marking the 59th year of this 'must see" event. In the ancient liturgies of the Christian Church, the Advent Offices marked a vivd presentation in word and song of the coming of our Lord. Throughout the service, the choir moved from west to east, from darkness to light. We had a great turn out, despite the competition with the Grey Cup. Many thanks to Dietrich and the choir, the servers, candle lighters, sidespeople, readers etc...
